Pastry of the Month: Ultimate Oatmeal Cookie!
Every month, Hearth & Hug Bakery will feature a special, “Charity of the Month” pastry. 10% of the sales of that pastry will be donated to a charity or organization that fights for what we believe in. See below for the organization and pastry being featured this month!
Charity of the Month: Rosie’s Place
Rosie’s Place is an organization located in the city of Boston that provides help and resources to unhoused women, or women living in poverty. Founded in 1974, Rosie’s Place was the first women’s only shelter in the United States, and currently helps over 12,000 female identifying individuals of varying ages, races, and sexual orientations.
Rosie’s Place provides essential resources like food, safe shelter, laundry services, language services, and legal aid for the women of Boston. Their many programs are designated into three categories; emergency support, ongoing support, and community support. By addressing these three areas, Rosie’s Place ensures that they cover all the needs of their guests, regardless of when and why they are needed.They also offer recovery services for those suffering from substance abuse, and they provide their guests with advocates to assist in all areas of life, including; healthcare, job/housing searches, transportation, and mental health.
